RE: What's IBM/Lotus' plan to win the email war? ~Alexis Elluski 2.Oct.02 07:19 PM a Web browser Notes Client 6.0All Platforms
I don't think they plan to win the e mail war. Every time I've raised such a question to a Lotus rep they backpeddle and start rambling about how great the databases are and how well
Domino does easy to develop work flow apps. There was a web conference where Ed Brill was taking questions and my question was If lotus plans to make the client more user firendly and if they plan to match outlook feature wise to better compete in the home market.
His answer was Lotus was more geared toward corporate use and would not gear it's product to compete with outlook on the consumer level.
That to me says Lotus has already lost the war and doesn't want to play anymore. It's sad that a couple of user features and a decent marekting compain could be the difference in us Domino Admins having jobs in the next few years.
